WOODS

Wood has been used as a building material for thousands of years, being second only to stone in terms of its rich and storied history in the world of construction. The chemical properties of wood are inherently complex, but even in spite of this challenge, human beings have successfully harnessed the unique characteristics of wood to build a seemingly unlimited variety of structures. This exceptionally versatile material is commonly used to build houses, shelters and boats, but it is also extensively used in the furniture and home decor industry as well.

Hardwood

Hardwoods are natural and finished woods. Each wood type is unique with its own character. These natural hardwoods can be used on the wall, ceiling and floor.

Newspaper Wood

Newspaper Wood reverses a traditional production process; not from wood to paper, but from (news) paper to wood. When a newspaper wood log is cut, the layers of paper appear like wood grain or growth rings of a tree and therefore resemble the aesthetics of real wood.

Cork

The cork floor and wall tiles, also known as penny tiles, are produced from discarded wine stoppers. The wine corks are cut into circular discs and adhered to a backing to form mosaic patterns. This ecological method of producing beautiful tiles can be either stained or left natural.

Plywood

Plywood is a material manufactured from thin layers or “plies” of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. This creates a stronger material to use in interiors.
